Rover Valor

September 24, 2024/ Justin Lansford

Rover, a service dog in training, is named for the code name used by the Secret Service for First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt during World War II as she traveled the world visiting American troops. Rover will be training with our Tampa program.

Welcome Rover, we’re excited to watch his journey to service dog!

Rover left the program in April 2025.

Valor Service Dogs

Valor Service Dogs is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization that helps post-9/11 wounded veterans regain their independence, return to civilian life, and maintain their warrior ethos. We make this happen by training and placing mobility assistance and PTSD service dogs with our veterans. In addition to aiding veterans in community reintegration - both physically and psychologically, Valor Service Dogs will bring awareness and education to the general public on service dogs, their training, and the laws that allow service dogs to be active members of society.
